I Wrote a Book… and It Nearly Broke Me (In the Best Way Possible)

On The Move. The Relationship-Driven 5 Point Marketing Solution for Mobile Business Success
My best friend in the whole world designed this amazing cover art for the book, On The Move.

If you’ve been following my journey, you probably already know I just published a book.

What you might not know is how hard it was to get here. Not just logistically. Not just creatively. But emotionally, mentally, spiritually.

This wasn’t just a business project. It was a dream I’d been holding onto since childhood. A big, shiny, maybe-someday kind of dream. I’ve wanted to be an author for as long as I can remember, but for just as long, I doubted I had what it takes. And as someone with ADHD, the struggle to finish anything long-form felt like climbing Everest… with flip-flops on.

There were days I stared at my computer and thought, “Nope. Not today.” There were weeks I buried the draft under piles of other work, hoping it would magically complete itself. There were months I convinced myself it didn’t matter, that the world didn’t need my take on marketing or business.

And underneath all of that was comparison. I compared myself to every other expert in my space who had already written their book. Bill Soroka. Laura Biewer. Matt Miller. Amazing humans I admire deeply, and who unknowingly triggered every ounce of imposter syndrome I carry.

Still, they (along with my husband Tommy) gently nudged me forward. They encouraged me when I wanted to quit. They reminded me that my voice matters. And they were right.

Because writing On The Move forced me to face all the inner stories I’ve told myself over the years: That I’m not focused enough. That I don’t finish what I start. That I’m too “out there,” too “messy,” too “extra” to be taken seriously.

But I kept showing up. Even when it was hard. Even when the formatting made me want to throw my laptop across the room. Even when I was exhausted by my own inner critic.

And now? The book is real. It’s in my hands. And for the first time in a long time, I’m not seeking validation from anyone else. I’m proud. Because the real magic wasn’t just in writing the book…It was in finishing it.

So if I’m being honest? You're about to get real sick of me talking about this book because I’m going to keep sharing it, posting it, and putting it in front of the people who need it. I’m not holding back anymore.

This book was written for mobile service business owners who want to build something real.

Something sustainable. Something consistent. If you know someone who needs a little clarity, a little community, and a little kick in the marketing pants, send this book their way.

And if you’ve already bought the book? Thank you. I’d be deeply grateful if you’d take a minute to leave me a 5-star review on Amazon. I need 100 reviews to push this book toward bestseller status, and every single one matters.

From the bottom of my big, grateful heart… thank you for being here. Thank you for believing in me, sometimes even before I believed in myself. This isn’t the end of something. It’s the beginning of something big.

With love and a very full heart,

Jen
